Hi guys, so a few days ago I’ve uploaded a video on Youtube. It shows the English version of Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town’s remake for Nintendo Switch. I was able to change its in-game language to English by using a patch that was discovered to be inside the original Japanese game file itself. It allowed me to play the game in English despite it not having an official Western release yet. The patch required a bit of (Nintendo Switch) software modification to be applied to the game, but once that’s done, it works pretty well!
The only problem with this English patch is that the English texts/subtitles are not properly fit into the text boxes. Due to that, some sentences are cut out and unreadable. It is pretty bothersome, especially if you are a bit new to the game. It kinda affects the experience as you won’t be able to read the tutorials and the story. I strongly believe that this text box problem is what delayed the Western release in the first place.
However, this also confirms that the English translations are already available and just needs a bit of configuring. Due to this, I think we don’t have to wait too long for the official Western version of Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town to be released soon!
This is a good news for all Harvest Moon fans out there! I hope this gets released before this year ends. I hope this gets released before Animal Crossing as I still have a lot of backlogs :(. I’ll probably be also playing Pokemon this November, so December may be the best time, Marvelous! 🙂
